Issues

The MCC actively engages in many projects related to our area's (and our Nation's) rivers. We take part in a number of "river cleanups" each year, both on our own and in conjunction with other clubs. Through correspondence and attendance at meetings the MCC is in regular contact with the "powers that be" that have control and oversight over our rivers. An active interest in the future of these rivers is a hallmark of our club.

At this time a major concern is the loss of access points in the Harpers Ferry, WV area. We are actively working to maintain and improve paddler's access to the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers as well as local streams such as Antietam Creek. Through this WEB PAGE we will let you know what the MCC is doing in this regard, with the hope that you will take up the cause. You can join us or do it yourself, but please take an interest in saving our rivers and our access to them.
