is the feeder canal the flat body of water that lies between the C-n-O canal and the river, i.e. on top of the Z-channel ?
if yes, than yes, the place does look like the end of that canal.
the way you get to it is you walk on the towpath from lock 5 away from the city (upstream direction) some 200 yds, make a turn left go some 50 yds till you hit the putin. looks really swampy.
yeah - i had a date that night so decided that preserving my fac-ial (unhyphenated fails censorship) beauty along with avoiding possible mobility threats would be conducive to an enjoyable evening.
