i just got off the phone with one environmental foundation that i have been making donations to and they said that, "due to their grassroots activism," my contributions are not tax deductible. i don't really get the reasoning behind but was wondering if anyone can shed some light at what makes donations tax-deductible and what does not ? i am sure lots of people here donate. e.g. are donations to FOC or AW tax-deductible and why or why not ?
