using Liquid Nails instead of contact cement for outfitting

i was wondering if anyone has used any flavor of the Liquid Nails adhesive for affixing outfitting instead of contact cement and how it performed ?

contact cement, while not perfect, does okay but is messy to use and time-consuming. something on a caulk gun would be far more user-friendly.
