PAN Access Advisory

Goose Creek, VA, at VA 624, Crenshaw Rd

by Bing Garthright, 301-330-1225, August 2004

VA 624, Crenshaw Rd, at the one-lane bridge 1.4 miles south of US 50, has fairly good access on the downstream right bank, with room to park two vehicles.  The left bank is posted and barb-wired in a hostile fashion.  The road is unpaved and little used, but adequately graded.  This bridge is 9 river miles from the Delaplane / US 17 put-in.

There are impenetrable cattle gates hanging on the downstream side of the VA 624 bridge.  If you’re coming from upstream, get out on the right just before the bridge and carry.

PLEASE NOTE: Private owners and organizations never invite paddlers to use their land.  Most are kind enough to tolerate it.  Just as we paddle at our own risk, we use advisories, parking spaces, and access sites at our own risk.
